PHIL BUEHLER, CEO | phil (at) datadialoggroup (dot) com

I like to solve puzzles.  I do it from two seemingly opposite perspectives – by diving deep into data and by speaking directly to people and observing their behaviors. Then I use intuition and experience to come up with a new insight or meaningfulidea.

Maybe this comes from having a German father and Italian mother. Or maybe it comes from majoring in math and art and then getting an MBA from Carnegie Mellon followed by an MFA from the School of Visual Arts.

Prior to starting Data Dialog, I held senior analytics, planning and research positions at global advertising agencies. These positions included Chief Strategy Officer at Hudson Rouge/Team Detroit, Head of Planning at Ogilvy One, Director of Planning at McGarry Bowen, Director of Strategic Planning at Y&R Brand Asset Consulting, and EVP, DIrector of Strategic Planning and Analytics at Wunderman.

I enjoy giving back some of what I've learned as an adjunct professor of consumer behavior at NYU. I'm enjoy speaking at conferences, including SxSW for the last two year, where I spoke about future trends as well as Millennials and Electronic Dance Music.

I am also a photographer and married to a visual artist. I'm active in arts organizations, including Momenta Art and Arts in Bushwick, and am a contributor to Bushwick Daily.

SCOTT MAILHOT, STRATEGIC PARTNER

I sometimes say that truth can be found in poetry as well as statistics (even sometimes in poetry about statistics).  And the business of brands and people relies on uncovering truths.  Unobvious, startling, powerful truths.  I’ve worked most of the last fifteen years in ad agencies and customer strategy, where much of my role is creating the spark where intelligence rubs against inspiration to reveal brand opportunity.  That’s one of the things I like most about this work.

I have a lot of experiences working with complex industries and companies that have multiple business lines, engaging with diverse audiences.  Those are some of my favorites.

My work has spanned categories that power human progress (traditional and green energy) and that help you plan for the future (investment and retirement); brands that bring people together (beer and spirits), that get you where you’re going (cars and trucks), and that collapse distances (telecommunications and media); not to mention home improvement and life improvement (windows and doors and healthcare).  I have developed brand strategies on every continent but Antarctica.

PAUL FOX, STraTEGIC PARTNER

I've collaborating with Phil for almost ten years, filming and editing ethnographic videos where I look to uniquely capture the spirit and passions of people.  I love editing and storytelling, and have made three independent features, and have been fortunate to have won several awards. I'm also writing and developing several comedy and sci-fi screenplays. I was  born in Memphis and  graduated with an MFA from School of Visual Arts in New York. I currently live in Los Angeles with my dog and pet rabbits, but am frequently in New York on various projects.
